Week beginning: 1st June
Thank you for all of your hard work learning at home during lockdown Reception! School is now open for some year groups and so all of the teachers at school will be teaching these children that school is now open to. This means that home learning will look a bit different. Please see below for a list of websites that will have activities for the children to access. Any teacher planned activities that we are able to provide will be posted below that.
All children have individual log ins for Bug Club.
For additional maths learning, we would very much recommend White Rose. They have a variety of learning videos and although the activity sheets are no longer free to access the videos are still very valuable tools.
For additional phonics learning, we would recommend Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons on YouTube or BBC bitesize phonics https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvq9bdm. These lessons will help your child build on their current phonics knowledge and support them with practising their blending and segmenting skills.
Email Task - Week Beginning 1st June
Please watch or read the story of ' The Highway Rat'. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b09kkt1k/the-highway-rat
1. What do you think about the Highway Rat? Is he a good character or a bad character? Why?
2. What would you do if the Highway Rat wanted to take your food?
3. Can you draw a picture of the Highway Rat or create your own Highway Creature!
Please remember to email some of your child's responses to RCW@castle.emat.uk (Mrs Winter's class) or RHW@castle.emat.uk (Miss Willis' class) with your child's name clearly stated. Parents, please ask your child for their thoughts or ideas and type their replies in your email or include a photo.
As all of the teachers are now teaching the children who are in school, it may take longer than normal to reply to your emails.
Keep up the great work.
